PİLEVNELİ presents :mentalKLINIK 's AWFULLY MARVELOUS performance at Markiz Patisserie between February 28 - March 16! AWFULLY MARVELOUS, with the dark humorous artistic approach of the artist duo :mentalKLINIK, invites the visitor to challenge the absolute dominance of visuality with a celebration cake that is far from ideal, contrary to traditional presentation aesthetics.
:mentalKLINIK's Awfully Marvelous celebration cake prepared with Tuğana Okan Nalçacı and the Phantom Sparks sound installation produced with Orkun Şentürk reshape gossip, rumors, current discussions and social rituals in the space against the sweltering backdrop of the attention economy. This experience, where our concreted lives are transformed into a celebration cake, draws the viewer into an after-party atmosphere where perfection dissolves, a period of time oscillating between melancholy and meaningless happiness.
